Former Brazilian youth national team defender and University of Denver D1 soccer alumna. I specialize in defensive positioning, 1v1 defending, and building out from the back. My coaching philosophy centers on developing the "soccer brain" — teaching players to read the game, anticipate, and make smart decisions under pressure. I work extensively with center-backs, fullbacks, and defensive midfielders. I'm passionate about developing female athletes and run Girls' Development clinics every summer. I hold a USSF E License and have completed the US Soccer Talent ID program. I've been coaching Denver-area youth for 7 years across clubs like Colorado Rush and Denver Kickers.

Maria transformed our backline. She brought in concepts from her time with the Brazilian youth setup that our defenders had never been exposed to. Her 1v1 defending drills and progressive passing sessions are top-tier. She also runs excellent girls-only development clinics each summer.
Maria is incredible with the younger kids. She made Sophia feel confident and excited to play, even though she was nervous at first.
